'cell' ring in silver
'cell’ is a jewellery collection that explores the pleating of precious metals to form a ring, earrings, necklace, and bracelet.
the project is a result of a close collaboration between benjamin hubert and german jeweller, biegel.
the construction of the pieces is driven by a series of undulating soft folds in 0.4mm sheets of precious metal.
the individual layers are soldered together to create a high strength to weight ratio based upon a honeycomb construction.
the waste material from the production of each is melted down and recycled to make the next.
the 'cell' works are available in sterling silver, gold, and platinum.
